Founded in 2018, BMCRI operates under a public–private partnership (PPP) model. It is managed by the Galbabhai Nanjibhai Patel Charitable Trust, established by Banas Dairy, part of the Amul group.
The institute is affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU), Patan, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC)
Undergraduate (MBBS): Initially approved for 150 seats in 2018, expanded to 200 MBBS seats from 2019 (85% state quota, 15% NRI/management).
Postgraduate Courses (MD/MS): Offered in multiple disciplines including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Community Medicine, General Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology .
Other Courses: The institute also offers nursing and paramedical programs .
Teaching Hospital: A sizable facility, reported as either a 300-bed or 650-bed tertiary care hospital (sources vary) with services like 24×7 emergency, trauma, burn treatment, ICU, eye bank, blood bank, and super specialty services .
Patient Load: Handles approximately 400+ outpatients daily, treats around 3,650 patients annually, and offers delivery services via three labor rooms among its facilities .
Campus Area: Situated on approximately 28.7 acres, the campus includes academic buildings, administration offices, hostels, lecture halls, labs, libraries, auditorium, sports facilities, gym, cafeteria, and transportation amenities .
Labs & Library: Equipped with modern laboratories in all key preclinical and para-clinical disciplines, along with a comprehensive central and digital library .
Hostel & Student Life: Separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls, along with a hygienic mess, sports facilities (both indoor and outdoor), and campus transport services .
Admission Process: Entry is through NEET-UG, followed by counseling via the Gujarat state authority (ACPUGMEC). NEET-PG applies for postgraduate admission .
Eligibility: Candidates must have completed 12th grade with PCB and English, achieving a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved categories) and be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year .

Community Engagement: The Trust has conducted numerous community outreach programs like free checkups, blood donation camps, denture camps, rural health camps, and more, especially in its early days .
