Establishment & Identity

• SNIMS was founded under the Gurudeva Charitable Trust (GCT) and began admitting students in 2009. It is the first medical college established by the trust. 

• The institution is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Previously it also held affiliation with Mahatma Gandhi University, reflecting earlier academic alignments.

 

Academic Programs

• MBBS: Annual intake increased from 100 to 150 seats starting 2021–22. 

• Postgraduate (MD/MS): Offers in seven clinical specialties, totaling 12 PG seats. Specialties include Pharmacology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopaedics, ENT, and Psychiatry. 

 

Hospital & Infrastructure

• The college is attached to a 560+ bedded multispecialty teaching hospital, equipped with modern facilities such as casualty services, ICU, NICU, emergency care, operating theatres, catheterization lab, CT/MRI, blood bank, dialysis, IVF clinic, and more. 

• The academic infrastructure includes air-conditioned lecture halls with audio-visual aids, a well-stocked library, advanced laboratories, simulation and skill labs, and hostel facilities for both male and female students.

• SNIMS adheres to the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) framework defined by NMC, emphasizing early clinical exposure, practical skills, and holistic competency in medical education.
